Rotha MOENG
Director

Director, producer and gallery owner, Rotha Moeng is a French-Cambodian artist who lives year-round between Paris and Phnom Penh.
In 2022, while he has just started directing his first short film in Ratanakiri province, two films he co-produced were showing in Europe: "The Sound of the Night", by Chanrado Sok and Kong Kea Vann (in competition at the Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival) and "White Building", a feature by Kavich Neang.

This life devoted entirely to art is a reflection of Cambodia, which has been constantly reborn since the fall of the Khmer Rouge. As a child under Pol Pot's dictatorship, Rotha Moeng only had access to art, music, cinema and song after the whole family fled to Thailand. It was in a refugee camp that he saw his first film, Poas Keng Kang. Since then, his sense of wonder has remained intact.
From the 2010s onwards, his artistic projects multiplied. Rotha Moeng is working with Régis Warnier on the film "Le temps des aveux" (inspired by François Bizot's masterpiece Le Portail), shot entirely in Cambodia (Rotha Moeng plays the lawyer of a Khmer Rouge executioner). He also takes part in the adventure of "L'histoire terrible mais inachevée de Norodom es Sihanouk, roi du Cambodge" (The terrible but unfinished story of Norodom es Sihanouk, King of Cambodia), interpreted into French.

Phearun POV

KLEK

Phearun POV has a background in Lakhon Khol; a masked theater whose ritual expression aimed to renew links between the local population and the Neak Ta. This theater is part of Cambodia's heritage. Phearun plays the role of Hanuman where we often see the fight scenes between the monkey general Hanuman and the demon king Ravana.

Phearun appears in a video by artist Khvay Samnang in “Calling for rain”, 2021, a project commissioned for the Children’s Biennale, by the National Gallery of Singapore.

Randal DOUC

RITHY

Born in Cambodia, Randal Douc arrived in France with his family at the age of four in 1975, following the fall of Phnom Penh by the Khmer Rouge. While working as a researcher in applied mathematics, he is also an actor in cinema and a playwright.

He has authored six plays, including a tetralogy titled "Le Fleuve aux quatre bras" (The River with Four Arms), connected to Cambodia and inspired by the four elements: earth ("Les hommes désertés" - Deserted Men), water ("Rouge de la guerre" - Red from the War), fire ("Nul endroit du monde" - Nowhere in the World), and wind ("Khyol’").

Sreyleap NOV

PHEAP

Sreyleap NOV is a native of Battambang where she completed her schooling and professional career at the Phare Punleu Selpark school.

It was from 2010 to 2014, she joined in the famous play “The terrible but unfinished story of Norodom Sihanouk king of Cambodia”, from Le Théâtre du Soleil, directed by Georges Bigot and Delphine Cottu.

She then appears in Robin Veret's short film, “Sound of April” in 2018.

She is also Co-founder of Lakhon Komnit Organization in which she plays roles in “social” theater plays.

Rithy PANH

Producer

Rithy Panh is a Franco-Cambodian director, film producer, screenwriter, editor, actor and writer.

Most of his career is dedicated to trauma and mourning following the horrors committed by the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, Rithy Panh has participated in the production of a large majority of cinematographic and documentary works concerning Cambodia.

Alongside his films, Rithy Panh is behind the creation of the Bophana Center, in Phnom Penh, an audiovisual resource center inaugurated on December 4, 2006 and which allows the Cambodian public to consult the archives collected on Cambodia in video formats , audio or photographic.

Rotha MOENG

Rotha Moeng, is a director, producer, and gallery owner (in Battambang, Cambodia) who divides his time between Paris and Phnom Penh.
As a refugee in France, first in Le Havre and then in the Paris region, Rotha Moeng kept Cambodia alive within him through traditional festivals, cuisine, the Khmer language, and karaoke nights singing Sin Sisamuth's melodies.
In 2022, while completing his directorial debut in Ratanakiri province, two films he produced and co-produced were released in Europe : "The Sound of the Night," directed by Chanrado Sok and Kong Kea Vann, competed at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, while "White Building," a feature film by Kavich Neang, earned Piseth Chhun the Best Actor Award at the Venice Film Festival.

Kongkea VANN

Producer

Kongkea is a Cambodian filmmaker and cinematographer who graduated from the PSE Film School of Pour un Sourire d'Enfant in 2016. He has worked as a camera assistant on international films, including Angelina Jolie's First They Killed My Father and Rodd Rathjen's Buoyancy. Kongkea has produced two short films, "Side by Side" directed by Polen Ly and "The Rubber Trapper" by MOENG Rotha, which won awards at the Festival du film court francophone - Un poing c'est court. He is interested in telling stories on social, religious, economic, and cultural issues, aiming to raise unheard voices and make the audience understand the deep meaning behind the story. His debut film, Sound of the Night, which is world-premiered at Locarno Film Festival 2021 and was selected for international competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2022. Kongkea joined the Asian Film Academy in Busan, Korea in 2023.

Piseth POV

Video Editor

Piseth, comes from the province of Prey Veng. Currently, Piset serves as the General Manager at KIRI MOTION and also works as a freelance colorist and video editor based in Cambodia. Piseth successfully completed a bachelor's degree in the field of post-production at the PSE Institute film school. Piseth is driven by a strong desire to continually expand his knowledge and share that knowledge with his team and the company as a whole. He is passionate about what he does and constantly applies himself with exceptional focus and responsibility.

Phanith CHHUM

Colorist

Phanith is currently a freelance colorist, videographer, and video editor base in Cambodia. Phanith was trained as a filmmaker in filmmaking and multimedia training at Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center in 2014-2015. Phanith was a former Archivist at Sa Sa Art Projects and resident in the historic White building, which he collected archival family photographs, as well as conducting new video interviews of the White Building residents. He particularly interested in film, history, architecture, social issues, political, and contemporary art.
